Matthias Schulz – ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
State Opera “Unter den Linden”, Berlin
Symeon Ioannidis took over the musical direction of the children’s opera Snow White in March 2019, music by Wolfgang Mitterer based on Engelbert Humperdinck, as well as its revival in November 2019 as part of our LINDEN 21 series for contemporary work.
Mr. Ioannidis did excellent work as a conductor and as a pianist, his musical performance, flexibility, and preparation with the singers, the children’s choir, and musicians were outstanding and provided great pleasure to all participants and those in the house.
Our encounter was not only artistically but also personally a great enrichment. I can recommend Mr. Ioannidis to any university, orchestra, and theater as a conductor and versatile musician.

In contact with other musicians, Mr. Ioannidis is a highly esteemed personality due to his alert mind and versatile interests.
He impresses not only as a conductor but can also maintain his qualities at the piano.
Prof. Frank Hilbrich – DIRECTOR – SCENIC TEACHING UdK
Symeon Ioannidis is an outstanding pianist. Having him as a partner during rehearsals is a pleasure, not only because he plays excellently and thoroughly knows the entire standard repertoire, but also because he shares his stylistic knowledge, his ability to analyze and interpret music, and disseminates it in various ways. He can adapt incredibly sensitively to a wide variety of tasks and deal with them creatively, never being content with what he already knows and always curious about new things. His desire and precision in finding and working on an individual interpretation are not only a great help but also exemplary for the students.
Prof. Hans-Dieter Baum – UNIVERSITY OF MUSIC “HANNES EISLER” BERLIN
During his studies at our university, as part of his conductor training, Mr. Ioannidis successfully conducted professional orchestras such as the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic, the Elbland Philharmonic, and the Prussian Chamber Orchestra. He passed his diploma examination with distinction in a public concert of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
